Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained notoriety after she released her debut album Age Ain't Nothing But A Number in the year 1994. At the age of 15, the album achieved Gold recognition. R. Kelly was a key influence on the collaboration which put the singer into the spotlight. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland for her sophomore studio album One In A Million, featuring the number one hit song If Your Girl only Knew. Following the success of this album, Aaliyah received international recognition as an R&B artist. Aaliyah was a part of the legendary martial artist Jet-Li in Romeo Must Die (2000) which was an action-packed romantic film. Joel Silver, a film producer, who was attending an award ceremony at the time she landed the role was able to spot her. The film she was in was the vampire film that was based on Anne Rice Queen of the Damned, that premiered in 2002. The Matrix Sequels was her first appearance in The Matrix Sequels. She was also in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) as well as The Matrix Revolutions (2007). She has been awarded four Grammy nominations for the year 1999, 2001 and 2002 and 2003. She is the first generation Indian-American to be from Connecticut. Mann is the abbreviation for her married first name Mankad. Aarti is the combination of Aarti as well as Aarti. Majumdar. Though her first career was filled with minor movie and TV performances, she rose to greater recognition in the latter half of 2000s. Other notable work includes Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. In addition, she has appeared in important commercials featuring brands like Volvo the world's largest auto manufacturer. Her acting career continues in Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
