Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The name was given to her by her parents after the town where she was raised up. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's dad came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder and her family moved to California's Mendocino County at the age of seven. Ryder was seven. They didn't even have electricity. There was no television books were the only way for Ryder to spend the time and she began to read extensively. Ryder started to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. In 1986 she was offered her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas when she was just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied at high school. Ryder hoped her career in acting would alter that. Sadly that didn't happen. However, it didn't stop her from making plans for her future. In 1988 she had her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful parts in a variety of films. In 1993, she was awarded an Academy Prize in the film The Age of Innocence.
